Thomas E. Grotta
Thomas E. Grotta has been practicing law and concentrating in the
area of divorce, custody and family law since 1975. Over the 29
years, he has conducted numerous court hearings and trials involving
large marital estate and complex child custody litigation. He is a
frequent lecturer for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal
Education teaching trial techniques, cross-examination and
examination of expert and professional witnesses. He is a member of
the Illinois Bar Association, Family Law Section, Chicago Bar
Association, Family Law Section, Will County Bar Association, Family
Law Section, Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association and is a Fellow in
the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Grotta has also
been recognized for his pursuit of excellence in advocacy by the
National Institute of Trial Attorneys and has been selected among
his peers and recognized by the “Leading Lawyers Network” and by
DePaul University College of Law; Family Law Center. Mr. Grotta was
a teacher with the Chicago Board of Education, teaching business law
and accounting while attending law school at Chicago Kent College of
Law, Illinois Institute of Technology where her received his Juris
Doctorate. While attending law school he also taught business law at
Triton College. Mr. Grotta has twochildren and three grandchildren.
He approaches each divorce with the understanding that it is
important to preserver a relationship where children are involved.
His practice of law is built on respect for all parties in the
litigation, dignity for the Court and law and integrity in each of
the aspects of the case.
